Overlay cabinet hinges are a type of hinge designed to allow the cabinet door to “overlay” or cover part of the cabinet frame. This type of hinge is commonly used in modern cabinetry, where the door is designed to sit over the cabinet box, leaving only a small portion of the frame visible. Typically, the amount of overlay can vary depending on the design, but ½ inch and ¾ inch overlays are the most common. These hinges come with adjustment mechanisms, allowing you to tweak the door’s alignment for a seamless fit.
